On Coffee, Scripture, and Slow Mornings

There’s a stretch of about twenty minutes most mornings, somewhere between the first pour and the second cup, when the office is still quiet and nobody needs anything from me yet. That’s usually when I read.

Not every morning turns into something profound. Some days it’s just coffee and static. But often enough, a verse or a paragraph will sit sideways in my head for the rest of the day, showing up in the middle of a support ticket, uninvited and exactly on time.

Thirty years in IT teaches you to expect systems to fail predictably. Faith has taught me something closer to the opposite — that the things that hold up longest are usually the ones you can’t fully diagram. Twenty-nine years married will do that to you too.

This blog isn’t going to have a tidy thesis. Some posts will be about a book I’m working through, some about a network I’m untangling, some about nothing more than a good cup of coffee on a slow Saturday. This one’s just the first entry in that log.
